I cut my finger in a table saw accident and received 9 sutures at the hospital. The finger bone was also fractured by the saw blade. 2 days later I began using a single drop each day of the undiluted devil's club essential oil directly on the injury until it healed 4 months later. During that time there was no stinging, itching, inflammation, pain, or infection. No other medications or treatments were used except for 3 Tylenol 3 capsules during the first 2 days. About the 5th week I wondered whether the devil's club was actually doing anything or if I was imagining it so I stopped the drops. After the second day I could feel it tightening up and some discomfort beginning. I immediately resumed the one drop a day and was pain-free for the duration. After 4 months 50% of the feeling had returned and after a year 95% of feeling had returned to my finger. There is no sensitivity on the site and almost no scar.
